Nick Foley: “...You want to keep a good cadence. I don't believe in balance because some days, family sometimes needs to take precedence over work. But sometimes, Daddy has to travel for work. So you know that cadence is allowing me to continue to move forward intentionally in a positive motion. Sometimes getting up and taking one step is all you can do metaphorically, but that's a cadence; that's moving forward. That's what doing 20/20 means to me, is living intentionally”

Shelley Butler: "Beautiful."

And Nick Foley. Thank you so much. Nick Foley. CA. You can schedule. If I'm in Moncton I would definitely be there for that into practice to build a culture that it's like you know inviting there's a limited number of seats. There's only trust. Yeah. You know and it's about Eve and I showing up in how. So instead of being in our knowing we are being in our lifestyle but they can get into a place where they're That is success right there as far as concern. Yeah. Oh Nick. and it's okay to find yourself in that space of accountability for everybody. Not one job may may be good for you you know this drift space right? Not one exercise is going to be good at as opposed to like I said before just kind of being in And so, if I'm measuring what matters and I just have a over or or spills over to your your work as well. Right? So personal things, right? And I just, I measure how I'm showing yes, you are the bosses and I recognize that but even as the constantly move. But what that does is it holds yourself. And well let's change it then. Right? So it's it can all it's it's a fluid document. It's one of those things that we can appreciate you so much Nick and thank you for being here. Have find out a whole lot more one-on-one coaching. I sure. Right? Love it. Yeah. I'm Shelley Butler. I'm in Gisette. to be so good. We're going to have a little bubbling. So Nick I want to thank you so much. If you happen to be around you can Um right up ninety-one John and you can actually get tickets four. I scored a five. I scored a four four four you know what and see what happened. I'm like I scored a two on Monday, a people and I'm just you know putting things out there and your salesperson says I want to do you know and they're like sales person it just says sales and they have five things exciting. It's going to be right here at at Dovico Yeah. 14 left. Yeah. Yeah. And so we're going to talk about our people do though. Yeah. Yeah. So that's what we want to in. Because that's how continues right? So on May are hi Sam. Um and yeah so we're in that space where we want to build happy humans you know. Build happy humans. Bring constantly working on their leadership style. The way of living life in drift. Love it. That they do have some into our pillars and practices that we have put together that we have decided to start doing events. We started them last our little event that's coming up. That's right. Oh my gosh. depressed and you're not feeling those anxieties Before we say before we say bye. Yep. We have to promote right and it says and you're sitting down with your sales yeah what what gets measured gets done and those matters and you try to quantify qualitative action, it bleeds good. So. Thank you so much. Good. So good. Absolutely. bosses, the person that you're accountable for is you, right? you're living with that intentionality and you're know well yeah we hit my mark. Okay what did you do? I scored this. What do I not doing? Why I didn't hit this one? Okay mark. You can look at the the metric for a whole week and be you going to do today? Keep the movement. Keep the cadence go there and meet them where they are and say okay what are simple. And it becomes an all great that's a excellent point. And then all of a sudden right when you're doing your reports then make it non-negotiable. One thing at a time. It's that something about themselves. Absolutely. But our job is say a time, we'll just measure it. We'll we'll break it down on have something that we can quantify qualitative action. It boom. Let's measure one thing first. I measure ten things but organizations and things I just call it up and I'm on my around and like let's find what you're going to measure and I Right? So my what I measure is is different than what you may And there's nothing wrong with giving yourself a good score in measure and my interpretation of that is different than what computer and they're on their computer and we just boom boom life. Right? So often we're our worst critics. And so but you say to yourself okay am I hitting these things? If I did one two three four five, then I get myself a five out of five. know what I mean and so as you grow through you can look back script in excel that you write and you simply go you know you wasn't operating very well well let me look at my let me look at my cadence tracker you know what I was operating at a 68% for the year and if I'm on week four and I know you know what I write a simple script right it calculates at the end but I know that I'm looking back like on week this we're on week 17 Yeah. Eve's personal. You can go on to Dovico. Yeah. Um and off of my personal Shelley Butler Facebook. Uh Eventbrite. bring. I love that. Well done. Great. Good for you. I think culture of continuous to move forward. But your movement. Yeah. Your movement. Your baseline. Yes. Right? It's a a culture of cadence. A culture of movement. Yeah. A clearing. Mhm. And creating space for the new ones to come 30th. May 30th. We're going to have an event here. We're our vulnerabilities and perhaps sometimes saying we don't know awareness right? And create that a space for happy humans. doctor's note. We are working with adults. All of us. And we definitely join us. Yeah well yeah exactly I'll check my I agree. It's that ancient way of working. And at Dovico we have sick time. If you're sick you don't need to bring in a structure so they can get into you know not only a happier we can make sure people are building awareness. They're not but get your tickets and get them quick because it is going Mm. Dovico's a company. Dovico doesn't have values. Yeah. Or that's going to be an amazing event. It's going to be important to put together your non negotiables. Not Dovico's. year. And these events are going to give you an insight That's right. We have actually Dovico it's all new for us we can manage them by having a happier life. Yeah absolutely. pillars and practices and what that means for us. How we put Like you were saying earlier that safe space. That space of don't have holiday time. You need a holiday you take it. You measurements can give us some huge reflection on where we're is higher than any standard that I'm working for anyway. Leaving us with so many great tidbits. Oh thank you. Um and leading in the past is no longer is no longer in right? We're costing and billing software company. So we existence anymore. It doesn't work anymore. It just doesn't. By having a happier life. That's success right there. everyday and those stresses. You're able to manage those and of leading your own life and making sure that you're not So, we just try to measure, you know, when you measure what script that I write and I have my business stuff and I have my love as I can but the reality of it is, is that my standard day and see if that gets you closer to your goal. Right? Cuz I mean? So okay well I'm hitting this this this and So let's do it. So the next week that person has got you they're going to do everyday to make sure that they meet their we all are in in some and I try to give myself as much self up because I tell you what, like, I am my worst critic and okay so like you say I want you measuring sales. So if I'm a qualifying or you're quantifying qualitative action. three on Tuesday, Wednesday, you know I mean I didn't do these things. Okay well let's try to do these things every like I came under my mark. Well okay well let's let's sit down okay what's your baseline and what are you going to do? And of having people meet do meet them where you are you have to going because in movement in in the movement they'll discover this is so good. Like if you if listeners if you just take a look at this as a leadership all you have to do is instead our days. We'll break it down into our principles and we'll I've been doing this for seven years, right? So, one thing at will walk you through the process and so when I go to giving yourself a you know a one or two and it's just based on a metric. And the best part about it is it's not universal. your interpretation of it and my job is just to make sure go and be like it's a simple measurement. It's a simple sometimes you show up and it's not so good. Right? And you're okay where did I go wrong wasn't very good with my emotional intelligence yeah okay I wasn't very good on you takes me literally on my phone or when I'm closing my computer good focus or good emotional intelligence. Right? So you quantify the qualitative actions I'm taking for having measuring I'm measuring what matters. I'm I'm quantifying just go through the score right? So I know the it is on my or you know download Excel on your your phone and yourself a check mark and I was like no no you find what your cadence and how to measure it and they're like well what do Well and I think that's such a great and it's a great segway important. Now we run a time tracking company. So everything prove something. Right. I already had the job. I didn't pushing down you know I could feel myself edging grace out be done a different way than you would have ever expected. you're going to do it better. Yeah. Right? You're thinking mean if you're a CEO and you're doing that like then I would start looking at your life. Absolutely. Absolutely. 00%. I we owe it to ourselves to not get up every day. Yeah. And not short. It is so short. I know I know when you have young something else. Absolutely. So we're talking about workouts to don't do yoga. Yeah. There's other things to do. Do that's like an Olympian that you need to do this because Right? And you you you just you you finish it up. So find minutes. You know what? When you start reading you know good enjoy doing. I'll do it because my why is is big right? So but why. And so I can gut it out even on workouts that I don't myself every single day for my wife and my children. That's my for a run right? Or go for because I enjoy doing that. all these you know food and things like that and I just go doing. So what do I like doing? I like going on long runs like really love doing it. But I had to do it for the for what I was triathlon. He asked me to pace him when I got back on the bike all the time do you cycle all the time? Nope. Nope. I last Yeah. Find something that you enjoy. Like for instance I enjoy yoga. But I love weightlifting every day. it's it's it's a constant negative. So I've constantly baseline is and you keep me that mark then you're going to absolutely love that you know throw that thing over there and about right? Is is just because at the very minimum I'm doing matter what is going to be I'll drink that diet coke and I'll athlete. I'm not a you know I am just I'm just trying to show that their heads are exploding. I get that. But I'm a like I'm sweating and drinking lots of water but sometimes it is diet whole the whole team. The whole team did their baseline and I about was like you know following your your daily I was talking to them like one of the things that I talked want to have a great life every day. Yeah. Right? I love that. you start your day like you know by looking at the news or that I don't do these non negotiable. And why? Because I or or doing something that you like it's easy instead of at least two or three or 400 metres on my off day. Right? So non-negotiable? Yeah. Like how do you start your day? Right? know today like I said today was an off day. I woke up this Right? And then all of a sudden you're just like okay well I like okay so let's just raise our baseline. Maybe it is I'm know I I had a couple hard workouts on the weekend. I felt Like you know what I mean trying to but I find that when push ups but I didn't do so I'm in the shower doing one two. body and things like that you know. And my baseline for me no it for two years. My baseline is no matter what. Right? And I like I need a rest day this is the baseline that you're going my clients. I always say to them listen you know here's the thing. Let's let's let's feel trust first. That's our first safe and two, right? In order to get positive or good say anything. It's none of my business. They weren't they as a as a leader and you make you help your your team feel me my head I think that like you I think it says a lot about trust. And and a lot of times you know it's funny I was in in a really great question and and and I and I appreciate the the right? How can they see? Yeah I know it's a really great that's Well here's the five things that I need to hit and I know with a group of men the other day. It was four of us in this for your organization your team member you have. Like give set that negative narrative in my head. CEOs do more. Yeah. filled completely filled and I didn't cross off each one of achieved or not achieved. Well we have to meet ourselves where because here's the thing about that right? And I and and like love to invite you to come in. Yeah I'd love to. And talk to is about measurement here. Yeah. Do right? We're costing have to prove anything. Yeah. You know so it's it's so and I was doing it for myself because I thought I had to you know ego edging grace out. I could feel myself doing that be doing it better or it can't be done a different way you are I know I have. And if you're thinking that you're going to end of the day I would only across off one or two. And I the morning and I would set a number of different intentions that you're going to do it better. Cuz probably if you're CEO you've probably done those jobs. Sure. Some of those jobs Like who you are. Or your ego. Your ego. See the thing is what question your systems. Right? And your organization right? you have. But if you are doing something for that long in the children it doesn't seem short. It. But but it but it is and we well if you're anybody really it doesn't matter what title walk through life and and a negative quagmire of life is just set the intention right? We we tend to drift through We it? Yeah. And I loved how you said just make sure like or or it's just a matter of us setting that intention isn't I just oh I gotta go and I go to my cell and I calculate just about life. We're talking about your life. If you get up time you step foot into your office space. Yeah. You've got that's a problem. But like just try different things. And like talk about the science behind it but for me it's just try new know and you just I just go through my list every night and it's going to just Right? And I like so what's your why for sounds cliche but it Simon Senate goes right find your if you hate doing your workout everyday then you're you are sometimes when it comes to like you know your your emotion for Right? Does it hurt when I'm done? Yes. So I feel great? that if I hit these five things then I am going to be able to the day. Well how do you how do you how do you quantify that? qualitative action. Right? And for me that is a big thing. So on this thing at the end of my day. I just downloaded sheets to that metric. Right? And so it takes me literally 5 minutes John's. Actually I should say that my buddy was doing a believe that your body would fall apart. You know there's no can actually do it. So many people feel that they just application is. You find what your metric is and you you live the target way over there. And I know I know that I can make because it's on TV. It's on your Facebook feed. You know much they hate their workouts. How much they you know it's started. Um now I think that you know asking people to come how much they hate it. How much they hate their learning. How yourself out of drift you know set a goal to do something I you do? Do you just like you know do you just like give little Facebook group and I was introducing you know the for me like it doesn't take like I I was so I was working yourself a I'm hugging you too. I don't know. But you know and of a kilometre last month. I literally at 11 o'clock at follow each other on Facebook and and that's all my Facebook Um so we have so much to say. So I as you know I mean we you you you both created such an amazing space. Like you know things that we should be measuring as individuals here. us about you know about cadence and about measurement. And the I can't wait to actually have you on board here. We would and billing. Everything is about measurement at Dovico So guilt over it I must say. It took me a lot of personal have to prove anything. You're already on the team. You don't awareness and lot of self reflection and a lot of ego know and that's that's where I've seen. I I've had a bit of But sit back and be quiet and watch them perform magic you we're trying to be intentional in that because we constantly that's that's a cadence. That's moving forward So that's what like you know what does cadence mean? Well that's a bike Right? good cadence because I don't believe in balance because some let them do their job well and sit back and be quiet. It may them do what they do. They do that's what they do. And and creating your own suffering. 00%. Hire people. Yeah. Let longer kind of thing than 20 20 20 but that's exactly where I start. I mean I certainly don't do 2020 anymore. I get up and I and 100 push ups no matter what right? So find out what your eat those that that popcorn but I know I've done 100 air squats does like we talked about right like when you like sometimes that you know once every so often that my baseline no healthcare like sometimes like self care is stretching and I realized really quickly Nick was if you're thinking that run of a week that you hate doing you have to sit down and from everything from drinking seven cups of water to I'm going to do poses for you know minutes every single day no told them what my baseline was. Right. And their baseline went and so it was an intimidating room right? Because for me it know you too Ken. Like I think I'm busy. I know you. I was a putting in 110 hours I would say you're doing it wrong. that it's not about putting in 110 hours and then bragging Absolutely. You're freaking doing it wrong. And if you're about you put in 110 hours. You're a C CEO and you're to find you have to be the CEO of your own life and understand stress like it was like nurse practitioners and like too heavy of a burden of our own personal suffering. We have this it was a nurses unit. It was like like and they're high interesting because for me you know like I was working with is how you how you do these things right? And it was to build awareness. You've got one life and and it is so to ask yourself. Is this the place for me? You know we have Yeah. So do you do you teach that to your leadership? Like like these to me like the 20 20 these are nonnegotiable for me. everyday and you feel anxiety. You're feeling depression every here and we're just using workouts. But we're talking learnt this right? We all have these non-negotiables. Like the whole day. Right? The whole day. And what is your non-negotiable in life? Like is it 100 push up? Is it walking can't be just doing nothing if it's something that's going to capacity then don't you know like I don't like yoga pose is things. Like as long as you're moving your body in some things happening you can find 30 minutes. Right? Like I'm I'm it's like you know I know that I do 30 minutes of exercise be my baseline. And and and so once you start to recognize good after you know, 60 minutes of of of intentional living squats before the end of the day. Right? And that's going to where your non-negotiable you know starting point is and it I've learned something and I've written what's in my you know know and Doctor Wells can and and Doctor Rouse could could that baseline is here it just becomes a part of who you are. is my non negotiable. So what I always say and back to your but this is your your minimum. And so once people recognize the the the big thing for me I always say and I mean like you air squats where I'm just like one two and 100 push ups. Now minute. So today was a rest day for me as far as I woke up. I it it's amazing what you can accomplish when you have a non negotiable of a baseline. That is like this is at the very was very intentional. I knew exactly what I wanted to do. and I would not be very intentional and that would be like it's just unbelievable. I know that probably just came recognize the importance of that. But when I was up I you're a runner. If you hate running and you're a runner things that you enjoy doing. Like unless you're an athlete about the science behind that. I'm just talking about your that's through the duration of the day. Right? Now I usually what's that mean? I mean this is the absolute non-negotiable by that? Okay well they're like I want to get active. I want to books and you start listening to good podcasts all of a I'll go to the elliptical and be like well I can find 30 sudden you look like oh I'm 28 minutes in. I've got 2 minutes. because he doesn't feel comfortable are safe with you, to know that A you've made this and number two is they or that intentionality is raise your baseline. And so here's what need to feel that you're coming from a place that you've been why. So my why for me is I just want to be the best version of the reason the first thing that came to my head was like were just talking as as friends. And the the in my head these gentlemen one time and they're just like I don't talked about was was feedback right? And I was talking to Beef? It's intentionality. So I was always an early morning. So see what it means for you. What is 20 20 and how does that that mean for me to answer your question right off the hop wanting to do it? It needs to be strong and I know that masters in in in leadership. I one of the things that I that I our strengths and showing it to our communities right and I when I'm talking with with my clients or teams that I'm that you said it best in your book trust is built by understanding know that's a that's a that's a wonderful understanding of of of us have an awareness. When you go in and you're coaching intentions and being clear with ourselves but with so very few most out of your your day and I just want to live you know get two out of out of five on that. I need to get that up. So when right? So you know I I need to look at that. Okay I scored a Yeah. Right? So so you're absolutely right. Setting those up happening is I did a whole lot less. Yeah absolutely. And going on I became CEO and I thought that if my page was not those then I was failing. And I'd set that in my head. I'd we are right? Yeah. So in 2020 when this pandemic start was ball. I absolutely hate the ball. I don't I yeah I don't it the finger a number of times during the during the workout. we were doing ball workout. Like a workout and I hate the mean and and it takes me five minutes every day to go through way you could actually achieve that. So you know this morning when I'm measuring things I'm my best self you know what I like principles and my days and and I I break it down and and I has actually talked about this for a long time. What measured I'm I'm that type of person. So what measured gets done. Eve it like two in the morning. I pack all these like you know kilometres. I put like my headlight on and like I leave Yes. So I always say to people like just try it. Like like I you know like runs and walks in the woods for like 20 twenty5 time I cycled I I I was I rode into Newfoundland. Saint trying not to talk over each other. So we're trying to be 20 20 means to me is just is living intentionally. also believe that sometimes I daddy has to travel to work. So You want to keep a good ask Greg Wells. You know he he like minutes. And so for me I just got really intentional with it. it. So here's what I mean by that. Right? Like people ask up with a baseline and you know do something you know get because of that I I've met you and I have met Stu and and all read a book for 20 minutes, I can go for a run for 20 minutes need to get out of this funk and and so came across the 2020 things that fuel our joy. Yeah and I think you're you're this make sure you run there everyday. I love that. But what 2020 may not work for everybody but it's a great place to good for you. Yeah. How do we build an awareness about our for 18 months before the ride and three months at the ride I ourselves personally so we can make sure that we're only doing kind of set me on that path of like well if I can feel this seem very very simple but my my my response is two words. Try is a this this great question and this answer is going to running great companies like DeVoico and and and all these bleed into my day. What 2020 meant to me was okay I know up for my myself. But I know that when I have a day like talking to the CEO and I'm talking to the founder and I 4% of my day. Well I don't care how busy you are. You're Right? And I recognize in saying that there's some people awareness and and about inclusion and when I got back I Exactly. Right? So we have to build that awareness just day. And it took me a little while to realize that I didn't going to it's going to trans translate into organizations a forty-four year old man and I'm just like I'm not an years ago actually the anniversary was yesterday. Uh I coke and a large popcorn and a mindless movie at the cinema. Cadence Effect and and what that means and and measurement you know and I recognize sleep. I go to bed early though and I out of their days and and I feel like if you're doing that change your life? So for myself what that stemmed from was from and so for me it it was intentionality. So what does I'm just like I go to bed early but I 430 my alarm goes out and to the end of the road and back in my cul-de-sac and that is matter what or I'm going to run one woman's baseline was and what is our baseline? Right? And so we went through the script and what is our how are we going to raise our bar? Like different types of like you know healthcare professionals were like did you have them do air squats in the shower? No no I didn't because that's my non-negotiable right? But I did know what I mean? I need to lean into that a little bit. Or the Excel script that I wrote and and that's it and and then and then I know at the end of every day okay you know what I feel like when I'm measuring things Eve and and and Shelley morning. I had a good yoga poses. I did my stretches. And so these aren't what you're going to do for your workout people? Yeah so when I was I was a I was at the last week I this. Yes. It's that awareness about what you like. You know do all one sitting. Although you talk about getting those do probably 45 an hour and now yeah exactly they're much Very good. But I know that I needed to do a hundred push ups that you you've so many great points there. What is your point back to your question is when I'm talking to people is when you go and you coach you teach these non-negotiable to Sets the rest of the day off. Like like imagine that. Like if you should eat this. You should do this. Doesn't mean that it's don't do yoga every day. You know I don't enjoy yoga every I'm on always sayings well find something that you enjoy then. and I was happy to do that. But I don't cycle. Cuz I don't I continue to hear time and time again is people telling me and and for myself I try to measure what matters and and I for you in your life. If you don't work out. If today you're but I know that I have to do 100 push ups and a 00 air too and and but no I I just wrapped up a masters in made a mistake of telling my wife I was going to go and you know what maybe I'll curve that for a little bit but yeah was like the work that you do is so so important. And so when was in Kitchener and I was teaching this to a nurses they Yeah. Non negotiable. Every day there's not a day that goes by go by right? So what is your non-negotiable? And we've steps in. Yesterday Shelley I take a shower at night. So it are great. So yeah things with me are great. Um I'm you know verge of of losing everything. My family I didn't have a job. your step? Whatever it is and then increase it as your time No prospects. Things like that. And and one day I just I I was continue to live that life of cadence that I always talk and I can you know write for 20 minutes and then after that it going to be on my off day right that's my my and so what that meters no matter what and I know exactly where that is it's the wonderful people and the faculty of Epic and beyond and that's why I came up with 400 she's like I'm going to run 400 so I got up in the morning I was like you know what I can rule and that kind of set me on the path where I'm convinced was sleeping and we didn't have our son at the time. But I was now you're the CEO, they feel safe because I know who you are waking up and doing the twenty twenty. Yeah. Well that sets and a hundred air squats before the day goes. Cos my baseline continue to propel you forward. I in my opinion. Yeah so So there before, right? So, like, you know, when you're talking Well you know it's it's a good question Eve. Uh you know eight that trust. One, they need to feel comfortable and two, they cycled across Canada. And and when I did that I was raising right? Wow. There's two things you need. There's two things feedback or feedback that your team is going to receive, they going to for 5 minutes stretch every day. Or I am going to run am no health guru. I'm not like I you know I'm not here to talk talk right? And I'm sitting there being like you know this because I'm so enriched with the friendships that we you and and you know I just yeah I measure like we talked about I understand why he doesn't want my feedback. And I would never get more active. Okay so let's raise your baseline. Like was just off to live with. I was just like I was on a path that means. Right? So raise your baseline. What do you mean number two is is what I try to get to the do when it comes to that you have that experience. Well the same kind of goes with focusing on how I can you know help help people get the most thing. I my team my job is to make help you feel safe. And to meet. Okay so for myself I said this and I've been doing you made them feel safe and number two is they need to know matter what on the on my like on my most relaxed day. Is 100 Think she's joking but she's but maybe not so I said yeah in the in my when I was doing my thesis work for my my I'm working with I always say to them I'm like it comes from trust firstly right and I mean you know Eve you you said it of who you are as a as a leader so wanted to just mention that to your team, Shelley, like they know, right? They've seen need to feel comfortable with you as well. Right? They need did my yoga poses. My yoga stretches and I was like you just amazing but what we get out of it I I I know that every together this great community and I think we can all echo the helps me meditate. And I was like oh my goodness I did my the you know your comments so CEOs do more and because I for who you are as a leader Shelley that you recognize that right within somebody so they can actually see what they're doing looked down at the note that I made. And for me it is about it's beautiful day and it's just like I'm I'm here with you know like I know that I can send you both a text on a Yeah. Cuz that was my belief. Yeah. Or Right? And what ended one on one for instance. How do you build up an awareness going to set one. Because if I get to my day at the end of you. It took two years out of my out of my life and and I then I set in the evening in my guilt and just ate chips. Yeah. and then you know and then work to to change that so that's you that you're in an organization, you've worked your way up and for the day. My to-do list if you will. No real one exam right? There's an example of a of a you know a young guy community guides. Community coaches. Um community fellows for having me. I'm I'm grateful to be here and yeah you know you need when you're offering feedback and you're building love that. I just I I want to make sure I got it right. So I intention. Yeah. A number of different intentions. At the with 20 pounds in both hands. Good for you. Right? And and tend to get up and we just kind of drift through life. But the more I set my intention, one intention. I used to get up in learning about how we can just be better ourselves. And we that we can be so good with on a daily basis. Yeah. So Nick each day and I don't feel good about what I've done. What I've felt like I did not accomplish anything. So really quickly I learned well you know what I'm going to set an intention. I'm night which I'd never I'm up. I got up to walk up and down the and taking one step is all you can do metaphorically. But days family needs to take precedence over work. But I like it. I don't sit on it well. I usually you know give Like I'm not good at it. But today I said you know And people ask all the time Eve like and Shelley they ask they accountable. To the point where if I don't get in my sixty K in Until the four minute mile was done by somebody. People did everything that I'm going to do on this ball I'm going to do it stairs to finish the point four so I could see that sixty K. a in a positive motion. And sometimes you know getting up today that's 2% of my day. Right? If I do an hour that's try to break things down and measure them to a point where little shout out to Stu Saunders. Yes. And Epic for gets done. And the thing that I find is if I can actually throw my little brain here. Right? And so what that did was it can't right? We all have talked about this four minute mile. that 4 minute mile. You know I threw the target over there. I feed is all about is my accountability. I'm constantly walking distance kind of thing. I would missed it by point four are talking over one another. Even when we're by ourselves. fact that yes the speakers and you know the the faculty are multi you know what I'm saying? Like you you can find those you know he's a he's an avid cyclist like you want to keep a going to do that? And it's all because I've been reading all what's that carry on to the rest of my day. Right? And so I getting up at like you know I I'm one of those people right? I know myself this morning I said my intention is important Robin Charlotte and I know you both know him quite well and Beautiful. I have so many questions like that Mike. We're bringing us together. So the Epic community is an amazing sometimes I'm I'm you know so that cadence is allowing me to continue to move forward intentionally in a in a in a in I'm I'm not very I wasn't very good with my morning workout it means because we've been in it but I'm kind of curious to the most out of every single day we're gifted with you know. wasn't intentional. Right? And so when I when I was training through the screen here. But I just I I'm always up and I love about you this weekend and getting reconnected. So our before six o'clock in the morning that I've worked out get up and have a coffee. I'd put on sports centre whatever After when I got back for 11 months I was like you know I'd whether whether you know we need it or not. I think setting I love what you put out in the world. I love that you share to you know I need to read the opt dead of leadership. You lacked on brain train I to do a little bit more reading. I need before you you said 2020 bring us like bring like we know what about the measurement. The all important measurement. You know So so can you mention something and maybe I can dive into this you measure what matters the reality is is that you get the break it into kind of two sections my my cornerstones really kind of honed in on the importance of measuring and just kind of like I need to get out. I gotta get a change. I just like for seven for the last seven years I've just what gets gets improved and I'm just a big big believer in that shut down. The kids you know my wife was sleeping. My daughter just kind of doom scrolling in the internet. The house was of self destruction for 11 for 11 months I would say. I was Just on my calendar. Thanks for having me. Good morning. Good what I realize is when you measure what matters measuring just in a dark place. I you know I would think I was on the world. Why is it important to measure everything for you? working you talk about Cadence really kind of leaning into the measure everything and and just kind of put that out to the with organizations or if you're doing that with yourself it's do that over the last little while and really kind of organizational leadership that took two years. Yeah yeah thank and and and implementing that to organizations you know that pursue a doctorate and she said I'll file for for divorce. really excited that well I'm really excited. It's Monday and will have me in and and do that and I've been very fortunate to know that it's a safe place to do that you know and Right. And Tuesday and and have an like you know ask a question and and just just doing that and and doing some speaking I'm I'm time that I leave that conference I am so grateful so just the quality of of of individuals that are there are that decides that he wants to take a big swing and and put tell us what's going on. Tell us what's new. Yeah so thanks at the Ritz Carleton. We spend four days with amazing Speakers cap tip to Sue Saunders because you know and and there's an actually gain so much community. Community spirit but community of leaders. Um that we get together every December story goes back quite a few years. We gotta give a little a thinking about cadence. And I love that you are thinking those measurements up especially when we first begin. but also my measurement of am I getting it done? And how am I here and sharing in all your wisdom. Um I love what you do. your children with us and those Lessons. I love that you are extra excited today. So I'm Shelley Butler. I'm Yvesette. morning. Good morning and welcome to Mindset Monday.
